Queen's Pier

Over half a century of history - a lot for Hong Kong - is going. 3 went on a hunger strike of over 100 hours and a dozen or so have been camping at the pier and on its roof on and off for weeks, all to no avail.

The government pronounces a more and more hated word: development. Hong Kong doesn't need another tall building and luxury shopping mall housing European super brands mixed in with little cheapies. Areas much more in need of development include:

- hygiene - get rid of all those dark and wet backstreets and super roaches all out at night, please
- welfare - how about giving a hand to the elderly who've been here for decades (not the recent immigrants), the ones who actually built this wonderful place through sweat and blood
- education - how to at least not let slip this ex-British colony's English - oops it's the government officials' unpronounced plan to make English elite again, just like in the past, so it looks like it's still quite colonial

Just these three and those arrogant and bottom-of-the-well-frog officials fed from day one by the government would have their hands full.
